Contact Location Managers: Here, There and Everywhere From the 2005-03-01 issue of Hawaii Film & Video Magazine Kauai Productions Eddie Abubo has worked in the film production industry in Hawaii for over 20 years. His experience falls within the scope of location manager and production coordination. He started in the mid ’80s working on the popular TV series "Magnum PI," pilots, commercials, the mini-series "The Thornbirds," and Paramount’s feature film "Uncommon Valor." As a resident of Kauai for over 30 years, the majority of Eddie’s work is centered there. But he feels just as confident with the resources he has acquired over the years, to be working production on Oahu. "I lived and worked in Honolulu and the North Shore for six years before settling on Kauai, so I’m real familiar with Oahu." Recent work has included commercials for Nike, a documentary series for the History Channel, prints and advertising campaigns for Quiksilver, fashion shoots for Roxy, ads for Procter & Gamble, music ads for Universal Records, and magazine editorials. "I just recently finished two back-to-back photo editorials for Condé Nast Publications, which I was real happy to be involved with. The first was for Self magazine, shot here on Kauai and the other was for GQ magazine which we shot in Waikiki with Matthew Fox, the lead actor of the TV series ‘Lost.’"" Each production, no matter how big or small, presents its own unique set of challenges and problems that require solving. I thrive on that. It’s extremely exciting to work closely with each producer, art director and photographer to create and deliver the specific professional and production resources that are critical in achieving a great product."
